Share a ride to the Model Railway Exhibition this weekend!
Looking for something different to do this Saturday?
The Nelson Model Railway Exhibition is on Saturday 5 September at Warnes Stadium, 206 Songer Street, Stoke, and Age Concern Nelson Tasman is encouraging people to head along as part of its All on Board initiative.
For those of us living in Tapawera and the surrounding valleys, getting to events in Nelson can be a little trickier. Public transport isn't always available when or where we need it, and sometimes driving is simply the most practical option.
But that doesn't necessarily mean we all need to take separate cars!
Could you carpool from Tapawera?
The Model Railway Exhibition could be a great opportunity to give Pooly a try.
Pooly is a Nelson–Tasman carpooling app designed to connect people who are already travelling in the same direction. If you're driving to Stoke for the exhibition and have a spare seat, you can post your trip. If you'd like to go but would rather not drive, you can look for someone heading your way.
You choose the trip and people that suit you, and drivers remain in control of when they share and how many seats they have available.
It's a simple idea: make better use of the journeys we're already making, recoup some fuel costs, and connect with others.
So if you're thinking of heading to the Model Railway Exhibition this Saturday, why not see if someone else from our community is heading the same way?
