Resilience After Retirement - Tea and Talk
Tea and Talk is pleased to welcome Nicole Willcox, Health Improvement Practitioner from Nelson Bays Primary Health, for a practical and engaging discussion on resilience and wellbeing after retirement.
Retirement is often seen as a time of freedom and opportunity, but it can also bring unexpected challenges. Many people find themselves adjusting to changes in identity, routine, purpose, and social connection after leaving the workforce.
This workshop will explore ways to build resilience and wellbeing during this stage of life. Together, we'll discuss:
Finding purpose beyond work
Creating meaningful routines
Staying socially connected
Adapting positively to change
Looking after your wellbeing in retirement
Whether you're already retired, approaching retirement, or supporting someone through the transition, this session offers practical ideas, opportunities for reflection, and plenty of discussion.
As always, Tea and Talk provides a welcoming space to connect with others over a cuppa while learning about topics that support health and wellbeing.
Everyone is welcome.

BOOK LAUNCH : Fly Like an Eagle - Fall like a Stone by Michael Brown
BOOK LAUNCH
Monday 22 June 5.30pm–6.30pm
Motueka Public Library
Fly like an Eagle – fall like a Stone. A memoir by Michael Brown.
Winner of the inaugural Motueka Writing Festival short story competition.
Our lives may appear spectacular – until we can’t cope.
Here’s a prediction: everyone will relate to the challenges in this memoir.
You will laugh out loud, then wince with frustration as I blunder my way through life.
Success beyond my dreams – followed by gut-wrenching failures. Fear of failure. Never good enough. Pretending to cope. Shame, loneliness.
In my day, real men didn’t talk about their “off days”. They toughed it out – to the point of emotional exhaustion.
A brutally honest, funny, and deeply human story that may help you understand your own life a little better.
Signed copies on the night $30
