Tapawera Connect’s Annual Impact Report

Over the past year, we've had the privilege of working alongside volunteers, community groups, local organisations, funders, and residents to support a wide range of community-led projects across Tapawera and the surrounding valleys.

Most people know us through our work with the Hub. Others through Rural Mums, Rangatahi Explorers, Tea & Talk, Community Gardens, workshops, flood recovery, environmental projects, or community events. Often, people only see one small part of what is happening.

That's why we've created our very first Tapawera Connect Impact Report.

The report brings together some of the stories, milestones, and numbers that reflect what our community has achieved over the past year. From volunteer hours and native trees planted to youth activities, wellbeing programmes, workshops, emergency preparedness, and support for local families, it provides a snapshot of the many ways people have come together to strengthen our community.

Most importantly, this isn't a report about Tapawera Connect.

It's a celebration of the volunteers, project leaders, community groups, schools, partner organisations, funders, and local residents who continue to invest their time, energy, ideas, and expertise into making our community a great place to live.

Community-led development is rarely about one big project. More often, it's hundreds of conversations, small acts of kindness, volunteer hours, partnerships, and local ideas gradually building something bigger together. This report is our way of celebrating those collective efforts while also being transparent about the work we're supporting.

This is also just the beginning.

As our Community-Led Development Programme continues to grow, so too will the way we measure and share our impact. We're already looking forward to producing an even more comprehensive report next year, with more stories, more voices, and more opportunities to celebrate the people behind the projects.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the journey so far. We hope you enjoy looking through the report and reflecting on everything we've achieved together. We're excited to see what the next year brings.
